There’s just something so special about getting ready for your wedding day in your own home … especially when your home is filled with natural light and marsh views! Local John’s Island couple, Mandy and Bryan, chose their neighborhood pavilion and dock as the backdrop for their August ceremony which made getting ready at home even more convenient.
Love is not cancelled.
I arrived with my assistant to photograph their details and once Mandy was dressed, Bryan met us on their front porch for their First Look! And oh my heavens, his reaction was so fun to capture! They were just SO excited to get married and celebrate with their family and friends. After taking lots of great photos around their home, it was ceremony time! Barbara from One Gal and a Wedding officiated such a special time and just like that, they were Mr. + Mrs.! My favorite part of their day was taking photos along their neighborhood dock … the light was absolutely beautiful and the marsh was the happiest summer green! After twirling and skipping through photos, we headed over to Mercantile & Mash to meet the guests for dinner and dancing.
Wedding day surprises are always a great idea!
Bryan had several surprises throughout the day!the first being a vintage Bentley to drive them downtown to the reception. The second amazing surprise he pulled off was having a guest appearance of Charleston’s local band, Me & Mr. Jones perform an Adele song for their First Dance. The look ok Mandy’s face was just priceless! After dinner, guests danced the night away as Bryan’s son’s band, Safety Third, played! It was so much fun and Mercantile & Mash was a perfect, cozy spot for their party! What an absolute honor to capture this incredible couple’s wedding day … here’s a little sneak peek of some of my favorite photos!
