Folly Beach Family Session, yes please!!
As a mom to two girls, it was so fun to photograph the three Sokohl boys and their sweet parents. Like sisters, there’s a bond between brothers that are close in age. It’s basically like having built in best friends!
I love that Meg chose Folly Beach as the backdrop for their family session and we had such a fun morning walking out to the beautiful view of the Morris Island Lighthouse. (Well, more like running, to keep up with the boys!) And oh my heavens, they were dressed to perfection with their coordinating blue outfits!
Family sessions keep me on my toes as a photographer. I truly have to go with the flow and energy of the kiddos. My approach for their session was to space out our formal portraits with a lot of candid moments to give them a break.
We played games and adventured along the wide open beach finding shells and climbing the driftwood. Folly Beach was the perfect setting for the kids to have fun and as a photographer, to have a gorgeous backdrop!
I always feel like it’s a win if the kids leaving feeling like their family photography session was actually fun! As a mom, leaving a family session, I always feel like, “that was a wash, we are lucky if we get one photo!” And then when I receive the photos, I’m shocked that they are actually lovely!! Above all, as a mom, I understand just how sweet it is to capture each season of life together.
