I’ve been sooo looking forward to photographing a Charleston Proposal at Middleton Place.  I feel so lucky to live just down the road.  We love Middleton Place, whether it’s photographing a wedding there or letting my kids run around.

And let’s talk about how Middleton Place is the most romantic location for a proposal!  The adrenaline rush that comes with the surprise element of a proposal is so much fun!  Jonathan and Lorissa’s proposal at Middleton Place is what dreams are made of when it comes to popping the question!  It’s the iconic low country landscape with the romantic Live Oak trees dripping in Spanish Moss that make it so lovely.  And hiring a proposal planner was quite possibly the best decision Jonathan made to pull off the surprise!

Jena of Propose Charleston designed, styled, and coordinated every detail of the proposal.  Jena’s mantra is “all you have to do is ask!” She takes care of coordinating all the moving pieces to keep the big moment a surprise.

The day began at Middleton Place with Jonathan’s reservation for a horse and carriage ride.  It’s such a beautiful way to take in the entire property.  Following the ride, the two made their way down to the Butterfly Lakes.  I was there, camera in hand, and ready to capture the bended knee moment!  It was magical!

Jena met them around the corner with a beautifully decorated champagne table.  Champagne in hand, we walked to my favorite spots on the property for a mini engagement session!  I’m so excited to share this sweet proposal at one of the most beautiful properties in Charleston!
