There’s nothing like a perfect Charleston beach proposal on Sullivan’s Island! After a long stay-at-home season due to Covid-19, Michael and Britt decided to take a long weekend getaway to Charleston, SC. Michael decided this was the perfect time to propose and brought Propose Charleston on board to assist with all the planning.
The two love Charleston so much that they almost decided to call it home before landing in the Atlanta area. Michael, being a very wise man, decided that the only way to pull off a perfect proposal in a different city was to hire Jena from Propose Charleston to handle the logistics and styling. Jena scouted a perfect location on Sullivan’s Island with a view of the iconic Ravenal Bridge!
She styled the picnic with flowers, pillows, light nibbles, and of course, the Dom Perignon was Michael’s pick!
Michael knew Britt would appreciate having a Charleston Proposal Photographer capturing the entire moment incognito.
It was so fun hearing all the details from Michael on the front end … like sending Britt to have her nails done and buying a new pair of shorts! He thought of everything so she would look fabulous for the pictures!
Michael chose a dog friendly proposal spot. Having their dog, Woodford, by his side was an absolute must! One of my favorite picnic details was the dog toys, treats, and water bowl under a custom sign!
(Pro tip: Jena timed the Proposal during a window that dogs are allowed on thee beach at Sullivan’s Island.)
Jena literally thought of everything! The whole proposal surprise was a success. Britt’s reaction when Michael went down on bended knee was epic. Jena and I could hear her shout, “YES! I KNEW IT!” It was the sweetest reaction ever!
After the two popped champagne, we walked the beach a bit for a mini engagement session. That newly engaged glow was so fun to capture! Cheers to Michael and Britt! And the best part is that I have the honor of photographing their wedding day coming up Spring of 2021!
