Charleston wedding + family photographer here! Welcome to my blog, a journal where I share all-the-pretty details, stories, and even a few tips. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Jen.

Charleston Proposal at Pitt St. Bridge + Post House Inn

Jan 1, 2021

As a Charleston Proposal Photographer, there was no better way to kick off the new year than with a sunrise proposal at Charleston’s Pitt Street Bridge!  Parit brought Jena from Propose Charleston in on planning and designing the details, and it was an absolute dream!  Jena creates the most beautifully curated and designed, bespoke proposals.  No proposal is ever the same and each one is completely over the top in the absolute best way imaginable!  Parit came up from Fort Lauderdale to pop the big question.  And he did so with perfect Charleston style!

Pro Tip: Plan to mark the proposal location so that the photographer knows exactly where the big moment will happen!

The morning started off with a stroll down Pitt Street Bridge that was perfectly timed with the sun rising over the water.  Jena marked the exact proposal spot with a huge circle of flower petals.  The orange and pink sunrise reflected so beautifully on the petals that morning.  I pretended to be taking photos of Jena right as Palak and Parit walked up to the flowers.

This was just the beginning of their incredible morning!  It’s so great to be able to plan time for a mini Engagement session following a proposal.  Strolling down Pitt Street Bridge, we captured their first moments engaged!

Pro Tip: Make Reservations for brunch or dinner following the proposal to give more time to take in the first moments as an engaged couple.

We concluded our mini Engagement session and I went ahead to Post House Inn to begin photographing all the incredible details Jena had designed and styled.  She had a private brunch reserved for them on their side patio.  Since the restaurant wasn’t yet open, it felt even more intimate!  Palak and Parit took their time walking while we prepped for the second half of their morning.  Jena created a floral installation hanging bundles of Babies Breath along the inside of the patio umbrellas.  It was breathtaking … pun intended!

Since Palak’s favorite colors are blue and green, Ohh! Events designed centerpieces and flowers around their table incorporating large palms in statement chinoiserie vases!  The blues and whites were like they were made for Post House Inn!
