Bess and Kevin’s backyard Charleston wedding on Sullivan’s Island was layered with meaning.
Both proud children of small businesses that have been passed down through several generations … they serendipitously met. Bess needed a new fridge for her new house and called on Swift Appliance. On delivery day, Kevin was called on by his mom, last minute, to deliver the fridge.
Let’s just say their conversation hit it off and next thing they knew, Kevin was going the extra mile to take off all the plastic wrap to keep the conversation going. Kevin later called to make sure the fridge was up and running and that Bess was a satisfied customer … needless to say, the rest is history!
Mini-Weddings are the new Weddings. (At least for now!)
The original wedding they planned was impacted by Covid-19, and so was their second wedding date they chose. On May 10th, restrictions in Charleston had let up enough that both of their immediate families felt comfortable to gather (distanced) to celebrate! And let’s just say, their Plan B was incredible … they gathered in the front yard of her childhood home on Sullivan’s Island. Though they didn’t have the party they initially planned, their day was steeped with meaning. Bess’ childhood bedroom window overlooked the arbor covered in flowers, the spot that she said “I do” to Kevin. It’s moments like these that aren’t cancelled – and with tears in my eyes … I witnesses first hand that love is certainly not cancelled!
Cheers to Bess + Kevin and this wild love story they will share forever and ever!
xoxo,
Jen
