My southern soul loves everything about a Kaminski House Museum wedding reception in Georgetown! This was my second time photographing in the area and I fell in love with the southern charm of the Kaminski House property. Located in the heart of downtown Georgetown, the lawn is perfect for a tented reception that overlooks the water. With string lights in the trees, it’s simply charming.
Words can’t express how happy I am that Shay and Jacob were able to have the wedding of their dreams last weekend! It’s been so much fun planning with Shay over the last year and then so amazing to see her vision and design come to life. Shay could be a wedding planner … every single detail was so thoughtful and styled with perfection! The day started with their ceremony at Pawley’s Island Community Church and followed by a sweet southern Kaminski House Museum wedding reception!
Your wedding style is a way to tell your love story without using words.
I was inspired by Rachel Zoe’s quote and felt like it really relates to how a couple style and design their wedding day. Each detail was so well curated and the result felt like an extension of their own story! From the oyster shells to the southern greens and blues to the pop of pampas grass in her bouquet … and oh how I loved the #goldeverything!
Pro Tip: Make time in the wedding schedule for a good wedding TikTok!
I knew it was going to be an incredible day when I arrived with my assistant and the girls were already finished with hair and makeup! They were literally ready to go when I arrived! Talk about a photographer’s dream! While I got started on photographing their stationery, rings, and other details, the girls worked on putting together a pretty epic TikTok! (And oh my gosh, they nailed it!) The airBnb that Shay found was also styled perfectly for all the getting ready shots! With their adorable matching robes with ruffles, we went outside to pop champagne and officially kick off the wedding day!
A charming ceremony at Pawleys Island Community Church
Shay and Jacob chose the most charming chapel located in the heart of Pawley’s Island. The chapel door was painted the exact same color as the shade of blue in her color palette! The bridesmaids’ dresses were the perfect shades of pink and the flower girl walked down the aisle with the most adorable flower wand. My favorite part of the ceremony (aside from their first kiss!) was actually their unity candle lighting. True confession, that’s the moment I teared up! It was just so, so special to watch! After they officially tied the knot, we traveled over to the breathtaking Kaminsky House Museum for their reception.
A Kaminski House Museum Wedding Reception is a southern dream!
This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Kaminski House and oh my heavens, it was a dream! Shay and Jacob had a tented reception underneath the huge oak trees that were dripping with Spanish moss. And the waterfront view was just so peaceful with the sailboats and sunset! At Christmas, the Kaminski House strings lights from the tree limbs to look like Spanish moss. It’s as beautiful after the sun sets with the trees lit! Shay had greenery and florals along each table with the most beautiful blue wine glasses! Wander Bar served specialty cocktails and guests danced the night away. The second moment I cried was during the father-daughter and mother-son dances. It was just the sweetest moment!
Shay and Jacob ended the night with a petal exit that was amazing! As a photographer, I’m as proud of the first photo of styled stationery as I am the last of their petal exit! I truly fell in love with this sweet couple and their family and friends! It is with SO much joy that I share a sneak peek of my favorite photos from their day!
xoxo,
Jen
