There’s nothing like a Sullivan’s Island Picnic Proposal right on the beach! And the best time for a picnic beach proposal in Charleston is of course: sunset!
Rhyle hired Jena from Propose Charleston to coordinate and style his dream proposal to Rachel during their Charleston weekend getaway. The day started with a chartered boat cruise followed by a dinner reservation to Sullivan’s Island’s The Obstinate Daughter. The best proposals come with a big surprise and Jena is the best at making it happen.
During their drive over to dinner, Jena called Rhyle and pretended to be the hostess from The Obstinate Daughter. She let them know that their reservation was unfortunately pushed back a few minutes. Rhyle and Jena already planned that he would then suggest to Rachel that they take a quick stroll on the beach. You know, just to kill time before their reservation!
A perfect sunset evening for a Sullivans Island Picnic Proposal
As Rhyle and Rachel strolled the beach, he had is eye out for me. Once we recognized each other and made quick eye contact, Rhyle had the green light to propose! What I love most is that he didn’t immediately rush and go down on bended knee. Rhyle took his time, took a deep breathe, took in the moment … and then proposed!
Of course, it was so fun capturing her absolute surprise!! Needless to say, Rachel said YES! Little did she know there were a few more surprises around the corner! Rhyle had invited two of her very close friends – check out Rachel’s reaction in the photos below as she recognized them running down the beach!
And of course, Jena had the most perfect proposal picnic with champagne and charcuterie ready and waiting for this newly engaged couple! They popped champagne and took in the incredible evening. It was absolute perfection and I had so much fun photographing every moment oof it!

Jen
