Magnolia Plantation is hands down, one of the best locations for a Charleston Proposal!  Planning the perfect proposal in a destination location can be tricky, from figuring out where the “bended knee moment” will happen to planning a dinner reservation.  That’s why hiring Jena, from Propose Charleston, is the best decision for anyone popping the question in Charleston.  As an event planner over at one of Charleston’s premier wedding venues, The Gibbes, she knows this city and key vendors inside and out.

Photographing my first (ever) proposal here in Charleston!

When Jena said she was launching her new business, I was also in the process of launching my own!  We had so much fun texting and brainstorming logos and even learning how to build our own websites!  I was so excited when Jena told me she booked her first Proposal client and asked if I would be interested in photographing it.  The answer was an obvious, YES!

A perfect Charleston picnic proposal at Magnolia Plantation

Caleb and Jena planned out the entire proposal together and chose Magnolia Plantation as the location.  They mapped out where the “bended knee location” would take place and then were the picnic would be all set out.  Caleb chose champagne and charcuterie for their picnic and Jena styled it with perfection with flowers and pumpkins!

Caleb nailed it and Jena should totally trademark this phrase.  He followed the map and once he saw the heart on pathway knew to go down on bended knee and ask Megan to spend forever with him together!  It was a gorgeous Fall day and the whole moment was like something out of a movie!  There’s nothing like photographing that “just engagement glow” and surprise on Megan’s face.  The official bride and groom walked over to their picnic spot to pop a bottle of champagne and take in the unforgettable day.

After Megan and Caleb enjoyed their picnic, we walked for a bit to take a few engagement pictures.  Megan’s smile was absolutely stunning and I loved photographing this incredible day of their lives.  The energy of the surprise and seeing the ring for the first time is so perfect for engagement photos!
