There’s nothing like a Wild Dunes Resort Proposal at sunset!  Tucked away on Isle of Palms, Wild Dunes has one of the prettiest beaches in the Charleston area.  I was SO excited when Jena of Propose Charleston contacted me to photograph Leo’s proposal to Reeves!  Beach proposals are my absolute favorite!

The evening began with dinner.  Jena coordinated a dinner reservation at Coastal Provisions.  This Wild Dunes restaurant includes a gorgeous beachfront view.  Following dinner, Leo planned to to walk with Reeves on the beach.  That’s where I was ready with camera in hand to photograph the proposal!

They walked along the beach, and with perfect timing, Leo went on bended knee.  Needless to say, Reeves said YES!  It was the absolute perfect timing with the lighting, just 2 hours leading up to sunset.

After the big moment, the two walked up to a beautifully styled picnic with champagne and fruit bites.  The two were just smitten and such a breeze to photograph!  They took in the moment and enjoyed champagne together.  It was such a beautiful evening for the proposal picnic, too!

Plot Twist: Operation Ring Search! (Spoiler Alert: WE FOUND THE RING!)

So, this was a first.  I walked over to invite Reeves and Leo down to the water to do a mini-engagement session.  As Reeves stood up to brush the sand off of her dress and the ring FLEW OFF!  The three of us froze, trying not to move any sand, but the ring was nowhere in sight.  As panic set in, Jena and I assured them we were going to find this ring.

We spent about an hour and a half looking for the ring!  As the search continued, residents and vacationers joined us to help.  By the end of the night, there were about 15 that were all searching together.  And of course, the sunset, so we were all left searching for the ring … with flashlights!  Finally, one of the vacationers who joined in to help us FOUND THE RING!  We were all beyond relieved.

The best part of the night: Leo proposed AGAIN to Reeves!

MORAL TO THE STORY: INSURE THE ENGAGEMENT RING ASAP!
